PHILADELPHIA

Philadelphia, an awesome city with tons of amazing restaurants, a great workout scene, and it's only a quick train ride away from NYC. Who knew?! My boyfriend moved to Philly for grad school last year, so I've been visiting quite a bit and I LOVE spending time there. If you find yourself in the city of brotherly love, here are some food and activity recommendations.

Dinner The Oyster House - I think Oyster House is actually my favorite restaurant in the city. It has amazing and diverse seafood, a raw bar, oysters for days (obviously), and cocktails. Sitting at their oyster bar and ordering from the raw bar all night is one of my favorite ways to spend a night. Talula's Garden - I had been hearing amazing things about this spot for over a year and we finally tried Talula's Garden for my boyfriend's birthday. It did not disappoint. Such a diverse, creative and surprisingly expansive menu. If cheese is your thing, they have a dedicated cheese plate menu. Tons of vegetable, fish, and meat dishes with tons of flavors in each dish. Also, they have the cutest garden for the warmer months. Barbuzzo - So delicious and cozy! Fresh Mediterranean menu with lots of veggies, pizza and pasta. Lolita - Solid mexican, creative guacamole (like spicy tuna topped gauc) and cucumber margaritas! Wm. Mulherin's Sons - Amazing, cozy atmosphere with a living room-feel and fireplaces in the dining room. The menu is Italian but it really has something for everyone - veggies, pizza, pasta, meat and great cocktails. Love this place.

Vernick - Creative New American menu, great cocktails and wine. They have a full toast menu so you can have avocado toast for dinner. Tria Cafe Rittenhouse - Cute wine bar, good apps and small plates. Pumpkin - seasonally-focused menu but fairly rich food. The restaurant is so small and cozy. It was the perfect date spot on a cold November evening. and BYOB!

Brunch/Lunch Bluestone Lane - Technically an Australian coffee spot but their menu is colorful and fits the bill for the ideal brunch or lunch choice with matcha lattes, avocado toast, delicious salads, baked goods and a bacon sandwich all on the menu. PS & Co - 100% plant-based menu with juices, smoothies, desserts, breakfast, lunch, dinner. Love love love! Sip N Glo - I stop here at least once a weekend for a wheatgrass shot and green smoothie. They're great about customization and I always make my own smoothie. Elixr Coffee - great coffee shop that serves a perfect almond milk matcha latte. Reading Terminal Market - huge food market with every kind of food you could ever imagine. I found a delicious vegan chocolate chip cookie from Flying Monkey Bakery there. The market gets crowded but it's worth checking out.

Workouts -SoulCycle -SLT -FlyWheel -CorePower Yoga on Walnut - I LOVE their Yoga Sculpt class for a sweaty workout with weights incorporated into power yoga.

Activities -Run or bike along the Schuykill River - there's an awesome path that goes up to the Art Museum where you can run up the famous Rocky steps, or even better, watch others do it. The running path continues for miles and if you go far enough (about 6 miles from center Philly), you'll get to Wissahickon Park which is a beautiful park that I highly recommend you explore. -Rittenhouse Square Farmer's Market - Love me a good farmer's market and this one does not disappoint on Saturday mornings.
