Turmeric is one of the best antioxidant and anti-inflammatory spices out there. The taste is pretty bitter and I really don't love it on it's own, so my favorite way to eat turmeric is blended into a creamy almond milk latte or smoothie, like this turmeric spice immunity smoothie. In addition to turmeric, this smoothie is full of some of my favorite immune system supporting foods like ginger, bee pollen, and cinnamon and it has a full serving of veggies. It's an incredible boost for your immune system and it tastes delicious. Recipe below. Enjoy!
Ingredients *Makes 1 smoothie
1/2 cup full fat coconut milk
1 cup almond milk
1/2 cup frozen cauliflower
1.5 tsp fresh chopped ginger root
1.5 tsp Gaia Golden Milk powder (turmeric, dates, herbs)
1 tsp bee pollen + more for topping
1 tsp cinnamon
3 dashes nutmeg
1 T almond butter
1/4 cup frozen banana or baked then frozen sweet potato (optional but will add some sweetness)
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
